This traditional Aleppo soap, handcrafted according to ancient traditions by Syrian refugees in southern Turkey, is pure minimalist essence: just virgin olive oil (80%) and bay berry oil (20%), naturally saponified. No additives, preservatives, or plastics.

With its high percentage of laurel, it offers a deep action: it gently cleanses, regulates sebum, calms inflammation, eczema, psoriasis or acne, while deeply nourishing, restructuring the skin and preventing aging thanks to its antiseptic and emollient properties.

This versatile solid shampoo is great for strengthening hair, combating dandruff and excess oil, as a makeup remover, shaving soap, or post-hair removal soap. Its delicate, herbal aroma is both enveloping and relaxing.

Instructions for use

  1. Wet the bar and rub it directly onto wet skin or hair until a creamy, nourishing lather forms.
  2. Gently massage the areas to be washed.
  3. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
  • For the faceCreate a lather in your hands and apply it gently.
  • Like shampooApply two washes in a row if necessary, rinsing well.
  • As a face maskLeave the foam on for 1 minute before rinsing.
  • For shaving: creates a dense, creamy lather that protects and softens.
  • Multipurpose: also great after hair removal, as a makeup remover or even as a moth repellent in drawers.
Consejos y trucos
  • Leave the solid in asoap dishwith holes or a grid, or on a sisal bag – keep them clean, – it dries quickly, lasts twice as long and prevents mold.
  • Use asisal bagto get the most out of the solid: more lather and gentle, natural exfoliation.
  • Cut into pieces: If you're traveling, cut into 2-3 pieces – take one with you and the others will be waiting for you fresh at home.

Historia

El jabón de Alepo está considerado uno de los jabones sólidos más antiguos del mundo. Con más de 2.000 años de tradición, nació en la ciudad siria de Alepo alrededor del 380 a.C. y es el precursor de muchos jabones duros europeos. Los cruzados lo hicieron llegar a Occidente en el siglo XI y de ahí se extendió, dando origen al famoso jabón de Marsella.

Su receta y método artesanal se han transmitido durante generaciones por familias de maestros jaboneros sirios. Tras el estallido de la guerra en Siria, muchos productores trasladaron sus talleres a países vecinos como Turquía para preservar esta tradición ancestral y mantener vivo el oficio.

Elaboración

Se produce de forma tradicional durante los meses de invierno. Los aceites se cuecen lentamente en grandes calderos, se vierten sobre el suelo para solidificar, se cortan a mano y se estampan con el sello del maestro jabonero.

Después comienza el proceso clave: el secado y maduración al aire libre durante un mínimo de 9 meses. Durante este tiempo, el exterior adquiere su característico tono marrón dorado, mientras que el interior conserva el verde oliva natural. Un proceso pausado que forma parte de su identidad.

Composición y carácter

El jabón de Alepo tradicional está formulado únicamente con aceite de oliva y aceite de laurel, una combinación sencilla que lo convierte en una opción apreciada por quienes buscan fórmulas minimalistas y sin perfumes añadidos.

  • Aceite de oliva: aporta suavidad y ayuda a mantener la hidratación natural tras la limpieza.
  • Aceite de laurel: ingrediente tradicionalmente valorado en la cosmética mediterránea por su carácter purificante y equilibrante que ayuda a reducir la carga microbiana de forma suave.
  • Hidróxido de sodio: necesario para la saponificación.
  • Agua: utilizada en el proceso de cocción.

A mayor porcentaje de laurel → limpieza más intensa y equilibrante.
A mayor proporción de oliva → limpieza más suave y nutritiva.

Uso tradicional y elección del porcentaje

Por su fórmula sencilla, el jabón de Alepo ha sido históricamente utilizado en la higiene diaria de distintos tipos de piel. Hoy en día es elegido por personas con piel sensible o con tendencia a desequilibrios cutáneos que buscan una limpieza respetuosa y sin ingredientes superfluos.

Los porcentajes más altos de laurel suelen ser preferidos por quienes presentan piel mixta o con tendencia grasa, dentro de una rutina cosmética habitual.

Se trata de un producto cosmético destinado a la higiene diaria y no sustituye tratamientos dermatológicos específicos.
