Origin of Lamazuna

In 2010, Laetitia van de Walle asked herself a seemingly simple question: why does the bathroom have to be full of plastic bottles? The answer she found was Lamazuna, a French brand that has since proven that cosmetics can be effective, pleasant, and completely plastic-free.

She lovingly chose the name: Lamazuna means "pretty girl" in Georgian. Behind that name is a staunch advocate for the Zero Waste movement and a philosophy she herself coined as "ecolonomy": the conviction that a sustainable lifestyle not only protects the planet but is also more economically intelligent. Fewer packages, less waste, more product per euro spent.

Their facial cleansing syndets deserve special mention: formulated with clays, jojoba oil, coconut oiland botanical extracts like green tea and arnica, they clean with a pH adjusted to that of the skin, without the residual alkali of traditional soaps. The body scrub uses upcycled olive pits and shea butter. The shampoos contain active ingredients like abyssinian oil, spirulina, and madder root powder.
